The Old Stone Fort Museum will complete its winter lecture series with Jeff O’Connor on Tuesday, May 2nd, in the museum’s Badgley Annex from 7 to 8:30 pm. This month, O’Connor, a local author and historian, will present “Adam Vrooman – Living on the Edge.”

The Old Stone Fort Museum will be hosting “Playing With History” the first of a series of family-friendly games days, on Saturday February 18, 2017 from 1 to 4 pm in Badgley Museum Annex.

The Old Stone Fort has announced a new winter lecture series set to begin on Tuesday, February 7th 2017 from 7 to 8:30 pm. The series continues on the first Tuesday of every month through May 2nd.
The first presenter for the entire series will be Jeff O’Connor, author of Thunder in the Valley and the upcoming book Skohere and the Birth of New York’s Western Frontier 1609-1731. The Old Stone Fort Museum’s History Fair is a two-day trip through time, featuring programs and exhibits spanning the centuries from ancient Rome to the 1960s.

Schoharie County Historian Ted Shuart is the guest lecturer at the Old Stone Fort Museum on August 18 at 7 pm for the final installment of the Summer Lecture Series.
His topic, “The Inns and Hotels of Schoharie County” will focus on some of the best known inns, hotels, taverns and tavern stories of Schoharie County. He will include a look at some of the historic taverns, most currently private residences, still standing in the area. The program is free and light refreshments will be served. The Old Stone Fort Museum will hold its annual Independence Day living history event on Monday, July 4 at 1 pm.
