The Greater Hudson Heritage Network’s Annual Conference has been set for Tuesday, September 25th, 2018 at the Bear Mountain Inn & Conference Center in Bear Mountain, NY.
This year, organizers are looking for presentations that address how historic sites have found a way to give voice to individuals who have been marginalized or forgotten in history. The Greater Hudson Heritage Network has announced it has been awarded five years of funding from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) for the continuation of the NYSCA/GHHN Conservation Treatment Grant Program.
GHHN has managed the NYSCA/GHHN Conservation Treatment Grant Program since 2000 and has regranted approximately $2.3 million on behalf of NYSCA to eligible organizations around New York State. The New York State Council on the Arts Museum Program, in partnership with CNY Arts, has announced they will again offer Professional Development Grants to eligible museums across New York State in 2018.
They have just over $33,000 to award. Museums may apply for up to $750 for a professional development opportunity for one or more staff or volunteers. Greater Hudson Heritage Network has awarded $6,992 in grants as part of its 2017 Fall Collection Needs Assessment Program: Site Assessment and Supplies Grants.
The 2017 Fall Collection Needs Assessment Program: Site Assessment and Supplies Grant, administered by Greater Hudson Heritage Network in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts, supports requests for site assessments and to purchase collection management supplies for qualified museums in New York State.
For the Fall grant funding cycle, 29 grant applications were received from institutions from 22 counties in New York State, requesting an aggregate of $20,020.77 in grant support. In all, 11 organizational awards totaling $6,992 were recommended for funding. The 2017 Collection Needs Assessment Program Grant awards range from $320 to $750.
