The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation next Summer Stroll, Saratoga’s Historic West Side with neighborhood native George DeMers, is set for Sunday, August 25th at 10:30 am. This tour will look at the restored historic West Side, also known as Little Dublin, to learn about Saratoga’s Irish and Italian immigrants who helped shape the history of this unique district.
The tour, sponsored by TOGA HERITAGE, meets at the Gideon Putnam Cemetery Entrance on South Franklin Street.
Summer Strolls are offered every Sunday through September 1st. All Sunday morning tours start at 10:30 am, last approximately 90 minutes, and take place rain or shine. The cost per tour is $7 for SSPF members and $10 for non-members. Reservations are encouraged, but not necessary.
The final Summer Stroll of the season is Queen Annes: Circular Street and Union Avenue on Sunday, September 1st at 10:30 am. Debbie Studwell will lead the tour of the area formerly home to the Young Women’s Industrial Club of Saratoga, which is today known as Skidmore College. Tour is sponsored by Ravenous.
