The Rome Historical Society has announced its second Tour of Homes event, set for Sunday, July 28th, from noon to 5 pm, in historic Rome and Westernville.
Eight interesting properties and their unique histories will be showcased including three buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This year’s tour includes one of Rome’s churches, a city cultural landmark, and five impressive residential properties including one being presented for a second year by popular demand.
Tour tickets may be purchased at the Rome Historical Society, or at any of the featured buildings on the day of the tour. Tickets may also be purchased in advance from any of our community business partners in Rome: Brenda’s Natural Foods, Darkroom Unlimited, Engelbert’s Jewelers, Hummel’s Office Plus, Jervis Public Library, La Belle Vie at 311, and Olney’s Flowers. Tickets are $20 per person for general admission, and $15 for current Rome Historical Society members purchasing tickets at the Society. Patrons may visit each property at their leisure and in the order they choose.
Corporate sponsors who support this event include Adirondack Bank, Adirondack Financial Services, Rome Sentinel Company, and The Loiacono Firm.
Proceeds from the Tour of Homes benefit the Rome Historical Society, a non-profit organization. More information is available on their website, or by calling (315) 336-5870.
