Jay Heritage Center has announced an exhibit by Robert Gambee, “Manhattan Seascapes,” at their 1907 Carriage House on Saturday, December 15 thru Sunday, December 16, from 2 to 5 pm.
A Champagne Reception, Book Signing and Prints Sale will take place from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday, December 15. The exhibit will also be open for viewing and print purchases on Sunday. Exhibit is free and open to the public.
A substantial portion of the proceeds from photographs purchased at Saturday’s reception will benefit locally designated charities of the buyer’s choice including: Jay Heritage Center, Rye Historical Society, Rye Arts Center, ArtsWestchester, and the Spread Wings Foundation.
Robert Gambee has been photographing for 50 years, primarily in the United States, but also in Western Europe as well as Asia. He has published seven books with color photography and three with black and white photography.
Approximately 1,700 black & white images of New York’s Manhattan Seascapes are in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian, National Maritime Historical Society, The Museum of the City of New York, New-York Historical Society, The New York Public Library, Princeton University, Bruce Museum, and Vassar College.
Robert Gambee has served as the Official Photographer for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Cunard Lines, Phillips Exeter Academy, Scottish Development Authority, and others. He is a Rye resident.
