This is a truly remarkable interview of author Andrew Rowen. The effort to present the exploration by Christopher Columbus in terms of the effect on indigenous peoples is a novel and ambitious undertaking which appears from the interview content to have been successful and productive. The negative theme or approach to the voyages of Columbus as being exploration by exploitation comes through loud and clear as I suspect it should. Rowen’s scholarship appears thorough and recommends his book for study. Thanks to Bob Cudmore for providing this material.
