New York Museums Conference Call for Proposals

By on

The Museum Association of New York (MANY) will hold their Annual Conference on April 8-10, 2018, in Rochester NY.

This year’s MANY conference will take advantage of all that Rochester to offer; programs, workshops, and new Conference Capstones will be held in cultural institutions throughout the city. Evenings will include engaging networking events and dining experiences.

MANY is now calling for proposals from emerging museum professionals and students for “10×10” sessions. Organizers are seeking visions for the museum field of the future through 10 power point slides in 10 minutes.

Proposals will be reviewed by a committee of MANY board members and cultural institution professionals from the Rochester area.

Have any historians or museums in the Rochester / Monroe – Genesee County areas done any in depth study of the history and relevancy of the Riga Academy in the mid-19th century? My great grandfather Charles Emery Richards , a graduate in law from Rochester University , was a part of that activity prior to his moving west to Iowa in 1867. I seek more information to supplement what genealogical data I have at present. Thank you for your interest and anticipated response. I can be reached at my Email address, viz. or cell phone Area 712 / 621-1854.
