Tales from the Hudson Valley

Photo App 2A new Sound and Story app is one component of A Year of Sounds and Stories: 365 Tales from Unexpected Places, a regional story campaign that aims to share, tell, and preserve the stories of everyday people in the Hudson Valley.

Using the app on your iPhone or iPad you can share your story while listening to new and archival stories from the Hudson Valley.

“Stories can provide the framework for our understanding and sense of place,” says Sound and Story project manager Shilo Kennedy, “this is a unique opportunity to experience, share, and tell Hudson Valley stories”

Photo App 1.Several organizations are participating in A Year of Sounds and Stories including: The Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic Sites, Nyack Library, New Rochelle Public Library, Somers Historical Society, Hudson River Maritime Museum,  and The Stone Ridge Public Library.

Community members and organizations can join A Year of Sounds and Stories by downloading the Sound and Story app, submitting new or archival stories, hosting The Cube, and listening on Facebook and Twitter (#365tales).
